This savory BBQ Jackfruit Pizza has everything you love about a BBQ chicken pizza but without the meat! With our crispy crust, BBQ coated Jackfruit and pineapple. This pizza has it all, and itβs completely plant-based!
Ingredients:
Pizza da Piero pizza bases
BBQ Sauce
Tinned jackfruit
Tinned pineapple
1 green chilli, thinly sliced
Vegan cheese
Coriander to garnish
HOW TO PREPARE PULLED JACKFRUIT:
Even though this jackfruit resembles pulled pork, I found it easier to βmashβ rather than βshredβ
Heat jackfruit on medium/high heat
Using a potato masher, start mashing jackfruit until the chunks break up
Remove seeds and casings from the jackfruit
Mix in the BBQ sauce
Method
Preheat oven to highest temperature
Drain can of jackfruit and place in pan on medium heat. Let cook for 5 minutes
Once the jackfruit is tender, use a backside of a fork or a potato masher to break apart the jackfruit until pulled pork consistency is reached. Remove seeds and casings from seeds
Add 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce and mix well. Remove from heat
Spread a thin layer of BBQ sauce on your pizza base
Sprinkle cheese on top
Scatter pineapple and green chilli slices. Top with jackfruit.
Bake in oven for 3-5 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted
Garnish with chopped coriander and slice
